Torsion bar – safety
torsion bar’s are important suspension part of Iveco Daily family vehicles. Their proper work guarantees correct contact of the wheel witch the ground. This affect the safety and comfort of driving a commercial vehicle. Contrary to their appearance – it is not “immortal” element of steel. From safety reasons – is importan to control and change trosion bar – not only in case of breakage.
Technology
despite their simple and “straight” appearance – torsion bars are not easy to develop. Due to the nature of work – they require a good base material. Even more demanding is the process of their alternating twisting and hardening. The key to their quality is constant monitoring of parameters this long process. Important are temperatures, jumping forces, heat treatment times and repeatability of all process. This are the reasons why the torsion bars is “not cheap”. Even the otulook of this element suggest something completely different.
Torsion bar’s – types
torsion bars are used mostly in Daily range. While their apperance is always similar – main difference is diameter. The most populare are witch diameters 29/31/33 mm. Exactly this version we produce as quality DFE aftermarket product. Of course in offer we have also other version of torsion bars (also original Iveco version).
Quality
our DFE torsion bar’s have a very good quality/price ration. This is very important argument for their purchase. The characteristic package is also note worthy. They are wrapped in a protective blue plastic mesh. Despite the appearance – torsion bar’s are very “stressed” internal and strongly hardened on the outside. This makes them easily damaged by mechanical hit. This plastic protection is very important.
Transport&Assembly
torsion bar can be easy damaged by external hit. During transport and also assembly process special attention should be paid to their “handling”. First of all – we do not hit their ends against other elements. By mounting we not use pneumatic impact wrenches. Alwais we avoid “dropping” or “throwing” the bars on hard surfaces
